Job Summary:

As a Senior Network Engineer at a small Managed Service Provider (MSP), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex network infrastructures for small and medium-sized businesses. You will also provide technical guidance and leadership to junior network engineers, collaborate with project managers, and communicate with clients to ensure that their network requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include performing project-based engineering, design, installation, and troubleshooting of network and security solutions
  • LAN and WAN routing and switching design, configuration and deployment in small to very large and complex environments including Internet Edge architectures
  • Provide network engineering consulting services, including assessment, design, and implementation of network and security products/solutions
  • Provide technical leadership on complex projects requiring teams of engineers
  • Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills and be flexible with hours
  • Network maintenance and support: You will provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure the stability and availability of the network infrastructure. You will troubleshoot network issues, perform upgrades and patches, and monitor network performance to ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Client communication: You will communicate with clients to understand their network requirements, provide technical advice, and present network solutions. You will also provide regular updates on network performance and report on progress towards SLAs.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent work and/or military experience
  • Active Cisco CCNP/CCIE certificate or the equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience providing project deliverables in a Managed Service Provider/VAR environment
  • We seek solid documentation experience with Microsoft® Visio, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint
  • You have expert-level knowledge and experience with design, implementation, and support of the following:
    • NGFW/Firewalls/VPNs (Cisco is a MUST, Palo Alto is a plus)
    • Complex routing and switching solutions (Cisco is a MUST, Nexus strongly preferred)
    • Multi-protocol environments, with mutual redistribution of routing protocols
    • Multicast
    • QoS
    • Network Access Control, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) implementation design, configuration, and deployment
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one or more of the following areas:
    • Cisco enterprise wireless
    • WLC’s
    • NSX, ACI, DNA,
    • VXLAN EVPN
  • AWS & Azure Networking
  • Palo Alto TRAPS
  • Programmable Infrastructure (APIs, Scripting, PYTHON, JSON) strongly desired
  • Authentication solutions including 802.1x/RADIUS/TACACS, Cisco ISE
  • Load balancing/Acceleration solutions (Cisco, Citrix, F5, Riverbed)
  • IDS/IPS solutions (Firepower/Palo Alto a plus)
  • Familiarity with additional core technologies, including:
    • LogicMonitor, ConnectWise, NMAP, IPERF, OpenNMS, Prime, Splunk, ESXi
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary

$100k - $130k
