The Senior Mechanical Product Engineer will lead the design, development and analysis of new products and components along with its associated processes to ensure that they meet the specified performance requirements, quality, cost, and timing.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development (50%)Lead the development of product designs based on product performance goals, manufacturing process and assembly requirements
  • Lead and perform engineering evaluation on assemblies and components using appropriate analytical tools
  • Simulation Tools (FEA, CFD)
  • Product testing
  • Stack-up analyses to ensure fit and function
  • Create and execute validation plan to verify product performance compliance to product specifications
  • Lead the creation 3D and 2D product designs using Creo
  • Coordinate production trials with manufacturing engineers to ensure product manufacturability
  • Support investigation and research into innovative design solutions to increase product value or reduce cost
  • Maintain project documentation per company requirements within PDM system (Validation Plan, DFMEA, Test Reports, etc.)

Product Maintenance (30%)

  • Execute engineering changes for existing products
  • Maintain existing product documentations
  • Lead R&D relevant root cause analyses and corrections actions
  • Support root cause analyses and corrective actions led by quality team

Misc. (20%)

  • Contribute towards development and attainment of departmental goals in process improvements, compliance, product innovation and product benchmarking.
  • Performs activities in a positive and professional manner.
  • Take ownership and initiative to supports department and company through a pro-active and positive attitude
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CAD software (Creo preferred) and finite element analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following manufacturing processes: Injection molding, die casting, machining, and fabrication
  • Familiarity with electronics and / or sensor integration into mechanical design
