What you’ll do:

Payroll Operations Management

  • Manage daily payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls in a high-growth, fast-paced organization
  • Review and approve all bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for accuracy
  • Identify areas for improvements and efficiencies by partnering closely with People Team, Finance team and external partners including legal
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Review and audit current processes to ensure compliance, while recommending and implementing changes where it’s needed
  • Research, determine root cause, and resolve incoming tax notices from various agencies
  • Act as point of escalation and work to identify, track, document, and resolve errors, issues, and risks proactively with timely further escalation of unresolved items to senior management
  • Ensures payroll processes are administered in compliance with legal requirements, internal company policies as well as applicable country, federal, and state regulations or legislation, including applicable wage and hour regulations
  • Perform analysis, generate reports and assist the People and Finance team, and other departments as needed, with special projects
  • Partner with the Accounting team to ensure accurate general ledger reporting and reconciliations
  • Project lead for payroll-related projects, including expansion into Canada and other countries as required
  • Responsible for tracking and testing of legislative/regulatory changes, application enhancements, and system modifications

HRIS Management

  • Partner with People team leadership to define HRIS roadmap and deliverables in alignment with business goals and objectives
  • Lead HRIS special projects that involve implementing new functionality for end-users
  • Seek opportunities to refine processes in conjunction with HRIS roadmap and leadership
  • Train new and existing HRIS users on system functionality and processes; create training manuals, user guides, and documentation of HR business processes
  • Work with HRIS vendor to identify and document system deficiencies and seek solutions
  • Project management of HRIS and global payroll service implementations if applicable, and leading or participating in other global initiatives

Leadership and Management

  • Act as advisor to team member(s) to meet deadlines and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure high level of customer support and positive customer interactions
  • Ensure department’s ability to meet all deadlines and annual performance goals
  • Continually focused on improving our payroll processes and systems to better support our employees and business
  • Manage vendors and system providers including compliance with service level agreements
  • Manage, coach and develop team members

What you’ll have:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of management experience in payroll and HRIS
  • Subject matter expert on wage and hour laws, payroll processing and associated compliance and regulations for the US
  • Experience managing payroll for Canada and familiarity with wage and hour laws and associated compliance and regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Google suite
  • Experience using Rippling HRIS preferred
  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized and able to act as a project manager
  • Must have a sense of urgency, be an effective communicator and possess a customer service orientation
  • Enjoys working in a team environment!

We aim to pay competitively for our size and industry. The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,00 per year, but we will consider location, skill level and experience to determine the final offer. In addition to salary, we offer all Faherty employees an annual bonus opportunity as well as benefits and perks, outlined below.
