The Senior Infrastructure Architect designs and develops IT infrastructure architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Infrastructure Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering hardware and software in a virtual environment.
• Experience with IBM Power Servers with IBM AIX OS and Linux on Power
• Familiar with AIX 7.1/7.2/7.3 OS Levels
• Experience with AIX Hardware Management Console (HMC) and configuring LPAR profiles including CPU and Memory allocations
• Experience with AIX LVM including volume group creation/modification, logical volume creation/modification and filesystem creation/modifications
• Experience with AIX patch management including OS upgrades via NIM or SP upgrades via SMIT and ifix installation for APAR resolution
• Experience with Oracle Linux 7/8 or Red Hat Linux 7/8 in a large Enterprise environment
• Understanding of Linux patch management including security patching via yum/dnf and repo management with Oracle Spacewalk or Red Hat Satellite
• Ansible and Ansible Tower experience including writing/understanding playbooks
• Experience with Shell scripting in bash and ksh
• Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on customer commitments
• Strong oral and written communication skills required

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and maintenance for AIX and Linux servers on IBM Power and VMware vCenter
• Ability to troubleshoot a wide array of issues on both AIX and Linux
• Coordinating, scheduling and implementing AIX OS Upgrades and/or ifix installation on a year round basis
• Meeting project timelines, following documented processes and change procedures, and meeting customer requirements
• Provide second-level technical support to team members, customers, and other areas both within and outside of IT
• Understanding of rules and regulations that govern the use of technology, such as PCI, DMZ, PII, etc.
• Clear communicator communicating progress, incident management, change management, and best practices to management, leads, and teammates

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Enterprise IT environment providing technical and organizational support.
• Appropriate technology, security, and/or industry certifications are highly desired
• Bachelors Degree
