Position Summary:

• Supports Supervisor/Manager in assigning duties and monitoring performance of other employees.
• Initiates and execute projects to improve quality, safety and reduce cost.
• Utilizes Lean manufacturing concepts to improve the operation.
• Manages department inventory of parts & supplies; Issue purchase orders for supplies.
• Ensures all personnel are following all safety guidelines, including wearing designated PPE.
• Ensures all personnel in the area are in compliance with all documentation.
• Ensures production is reported accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Ensures gages and other instruments are in calibration at all times.
• Ensures employees are properly trained and audited for quality of work; Complete re-training as necessary.
• Responds to problems that arise in the area, investigate and develop/implement corrective actions

• External hire: 5 to 10 years applicable experience in a manufacturing environment; 4 year college degree preferred
• Internal promotion: 5 year's experience in a related Manufacturing/QC role and exceeds expectations ratings with educational experience preferred (4 year college degree)
• 2 year college degree minimum (4 year preferred) with emphasis in technical areas such as science and engineering
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and basic statistical techniques
• SAP knowledge is preferred
• Prior experience in an FDA/cGMP regulated environment
