The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the VP of Finance and will support building and ensuring critical support to our finance and leadership teams. You will focus on creating and building financial tools, reporting mechanisms, business modeling, and financial planning processes that will effectively scale with XPRIZE’s growth. You possess superior financial reporting, planning and modeling skills, as a well as razor-sharp business acumen. This role also requires the ability to understand the big picture of the XPRIZE financial model, while being very detail-oriented with the analysis of fund accounting, expenses, and cash flows.

Responsibilities

Creating financial projections and analysis for recurring forecasts, annual budgets, long-range plans, and other scenarios via operation of consolidated 3-statement financial model and other supporting driver-based models

  • Producing recurring reporting packages and analysis for communication of financial/operational results to senior management and prize operators
  • Investigating variances between current results and forecasts versus prior ones and determining major causes of change
  • Monitoring and analyzing resource usage and its efficacy and communicating actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
  • Synthesizing information from different sources and formats to generate reporting and analysis
  • Partnering with the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of financial reporting
  • Interpreting contracts and performing various operational tasks such as partner payment calculations and sales review/processing
  • Identifying and driving process improvements within finance as well as across the organization to enhance efficiency and financial control
  • Working cross-functionally across the organization to perform finance duties and to support various other projects and strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or related area
  • Experience in a finance analytical role
  • Ability to problem-solve methodically and creatively
  • Exceptional analytical skills with ability to independently and objectively form and test hypotheses and draw relevant conclusions
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and Google Sheets/Slides with ability to work with large data sets
  • Familiarity with fundamental accounting principles such as prepaids, accruals, depreciation/amortization, and revenue recognition
  • Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and drive to constantly develop and make an impact
  • NetSuite, Hyperion, Salesforce, and fund accounting experience is a plus
  • Non-profit experience is a plus


The anticipated base salary for this position is $90k to $120k and may also qualify for an annual incentive. This role is eligible for our extensive benefits package and generous paid time off including vacation, sick, and holidays. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience for the role, level of education attained, and certifications and/or other licenses held. XPRIZE is a remote-first environment.
