The Head Injury Association is looking for a Senior Director of Corporate Compliance and QA. This candidate, Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Senior Director of Corporate Compliance and QA is responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance and Compliance for the Head Injury Association. Job responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hires trains, supervises, assigns duties and schedules work hours and evaluates job performance & disciplines all and in accordance with Agency procedures and policies.
  • Prepares & coordinates for all external surveys by funding and accrediting bodies (OPWDD, OMIG, Department of Health, etc..). Create, oversee and implement plans of correction actions for all OPWDD/DOH statement of deficiencies according to given timeframes.
  • Performs quality assurance functions to accomplish Agency-wide coordination, monitoring & reporting of quality assurance studies as evidenced by supervisory review of Agency-wide surveys/ reports.
  • Assist departments with the coordination of audit information and recommends appropriate data, including gathering mechanisms & procedures as evidenced by supervisory review of reports.
  • Maintains all Agency manuals and oversight of updates in major policies on an annual basis as evidenced by supervisory review of Agency manuals.
  • Conduct periodic internal record and billing reviews for all programs to ensure compliance with billing regulations as evidenced by review of audit tools.
  • Chair the Human Rights Committee and ensure protection of individual rights for all consumers as evidenced by minutes.
  • Keep abreast of OMIG, OPWDD and the Department of Health regulations. Serve as an agency resource regarding regulations and provide clarification in the interpretation and application of regulations as related to program operations.
  • Develop and implement internal QA systems and protocols. Oversee regular and on-going Compliance and QA audits for all programs. Conduct exit conferences with programs to review deficiencies, develop plans of corrective action and work with program management to oversee implementation and training of staff if needed.
  • Serve on the Safe Patient Handling Committee/ Workforce Safety, Incident Review Committee and Serious Incident Review Committee; ensure the implementation and follow up of committee recommendations; train new committee members of their responsibilities.
  • Oversee the investigatory process. Review investigation reports when necessary to ensure reports are complete, thorough and contain all required documentation and required elements. Work with Director of QA to ensure documentation of recommendations is submitted and evidence that recommendations have been implemented has been uploaded into IRMA. When necessary conduct investigations
  • Maintains agency’s QI and Compliance Plan, updates according to regulatory guidelines and ensures plans are being implemented agency wide.
  • Schedules quarterly Compliance Committee meetings, works with Chair to develop agenda and takes minutes. Attends network Compliance Committee Meetings and other meetings as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years of experience working in the OPWDD field required
  • 3 years Quality Assurance and/or Compliance experience preferred
  • Valid NY State Driver's License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
