We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Digital Design Electrical Engineer to join our growing and diverse team in solving complex challenges in board-level / circuit card design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic avionics equipment and devices. Analyzes equipment and conducts experimental tests to confirm operational requirements are met and establishes conformity to applicable standards. You will be part of a team of highly motivated and experienced engineers but will also be expected to operate with little direct supervision to handle complex electrical engineering assignments.

As UA's Digital Design Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Lead and/or support design activities for innovative new products while following established development processes and procedures.
• Work effectively with members of a multidiscipline product development team including Mechanical, Test, Reliability, Systems, Safety, Software, and Verification Engineering,
• Complete conceptual designs and trade studies to define design re-use in potential new products and assess the feasibility of meeting new requirements.
• Complete high reliability focused detailed designs that incorporate design for test considerations and parts derating criteria to meet the functional and performance requirements of safety critical designs.
• Develop circuit card hardware requirements, design documentation, block diagrams and power estimates for circuit card designs.
• Prepare and leads circuit card design reviews.
• Works closely with and provides direction to PCB Designers in the layout of boards ranging from eight to 16 Layers of complexity.
• Engage in hardware test debug, integration, qualification and verification activities.

Preferred Experience:

• Signal integrity analysis tools (Hyperlynx Preferred)
• Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite (DxDesigner Schematic Capture)
• Version control systems (Agile preferred)
• Previous experience working in an Avionics environment
• EMI/EMC testing (DO-160 Preferred)
• Designs incorporating Fiber Optic interfaces
• Low voltage power supply design
• Analog Design

Required experience:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
• Five (5) or more years of digital circuit card design experience
• Experience in the development of circuit cards including schematic generation, signal integrity and functional simulations, PCB layout, test plan generation, and integration & test
• Experience in operating laboratory equipment including digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, DC/AC power supplies, etc.
