The Senior Copywriter will be responsible to lead the team in collaborating with project stakeholders to develop messaging that drives performance. This individual will focus on writing compelling demand generation copy for Marketing and Admissions team’s, advertising and student recruitment campaigns. The copy will leverage both brand and program attributes with strong calls to action across a variety of media channels and integrative campaigns including: digital executions (including email, text, web and display); upper funnel including TV/OTT, videos, and radio/streaming radio, direct response campaigns, events and sales support materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Write effective demand generation copy and content that motivates high-school graduates, career changers and returning military segments to train for careers that are in demand. Maintain a clear and consistent brand voice with a focus on results continually optimizing work to boost student engagement and campaign performance.
  • Conduct departmental kickoff and context meetings with internal teams across all functional areas to identify the messaging strategy/goals, target market persona and gain clarity on deliverables for creative briefs, timelines to final deliverables.
  • Manage all steps from initial messaging strategy, interpret creative briefs, to concept, writing/editing, proof reading through to final execution and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Conduct interviews with internal and external contacts (including employers, UTI graduates, and manufacturers) and excel in superior storytelling across online and offline channels including digital and video
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to internal teams, and stakeholders as needed, and participate in campus events on occasion.
  • Proficient in all forms of communication from ad copy, video scripts, interviews, blogs, marketing support material and sales enablement tools and inquiry forms/landing pages; virtual events and presentations.
  • Up to date on current events and industry trends (especially in the transportation and higher education) with an insatiable appetite for news, mega trends and cultural relevance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in journalism, English; public relations or advertising/marketing content) or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability required.
  • Minimum four+ years of experience copywriting for ad copy for paid media including broadcast and video; integrated campagins and digital channels required.
  • Experienced marketer with a proven track record of writing copy, messaging and content for demand generation, direct response (DR) and call to action that drives performance required.
  • Experience with integrated and nurturing campaigns including email, text messaging, diret mail and digital channels required.
  • Experience in conducting interviews and storytelling/content creation required.
  • Agency, Education and/or Automotive industry experience is a plus.

  • Experience writing clear, creative and compelling copy that drives performance
  • Interpret and clarify copywriting/creative briefs to understand content/messaging requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with Creative, Videographer, Compliance, Social Media, Product Marketing, Segment Managers and other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages) that drives business goals and objectives

Work Environment
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment. However, occasional on location work or outdoor work is required.
  • Corporate home office environment.
  • Regular business hours, occasional overtime.
  • Periodic travel required, approximately 5%.
  • Normal physical activity including movement, hearing, seeing and communication.
