What’s the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking a senior level individual to support and contribute to our ongoing growth in Texas and elsewhere along the Gulf Coast. We are particularly interested in an individual who has experience in growing a coastal engineering and restoration practice, developing new clients, and executing coastal projects. The individual will be part of a team that is a driving force behind the growth of Anchor QEA resources in the region. A primary focus of the individual will be to manage projects and work with others to better position Anchor QEA to win and execute new projects funded by hurricane recovery funds; coastal restoration, flood, and climate change resiliency funds at the federal, state, and local levels; ports; energy (petroleum and utilities); and industrial clients. The selected individual will also have the opportunity to contribute to water resources and water quality projects, as their skillset allows.


Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Plan and execute coastal engineering and restoration projects
  • Interface with Anchor QEA leadership and staff to expand our coastal practice in Texas
  • Work with others to develop new clients, identify project opportunities, prepare proposals, and capture new work
  • Establish the vision and author scopes of work, negotiate fees, develop project schedules, manage the technical and financial aspects of projects, communicate with clients and stakeholders, and coordinate subcontractors for complex projects
  • Identify strategic teaming partners, mentor junior level staff, and advocate for additional staffing needs when appropriate

What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science
  • 10 years of experience with more than 5 years of experience working directly in Texas
  • Experience working on projects with the Texas General Land Office and other state agencies, US Army Corps of Engineers and other federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, ports, local municipalities, and industry.
  • A passion for planning and promoting beneficial use of dredged material projects, coastal wetlands, bird islands, beaches, oyster reefs, living shorelines, flood risk management projects, and other projects that benefit the coast.
  • Experience with comprehensive feasibility analysis, including numerical and analytical modeling
  • Experience in project management (construction oversight is a plus)
  • Proven experience in building partnerships
  • Active participation in Texas and national coastal zone management and protection organizations
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Self-motivation, drive, and ability to work independently
  • Professional Engineers license in Texas or other Gulf Coast states is a plus
