To purchase materials, equipment, and supplies from assigned vendors at competitive costs to meet customer demand and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Work closely with operations, sourcing, and customer service to communicate issues to drive lead time and cost reduction improvements
  • Take on broader business views to problems by leading projects outside of the day-to-day duties
  • Represent Supply Chain as a “Key User” in the ERP software systemPerform procurement and inventory management data analysis
  • Support the training of others on Nott purchasing systems and processes
  • Oversee strategic supplier relationships, including negotiation strategies
  • Interpret and execute Purchase Orders for assigned commodities, while maintaining tracking visibility and internal communication through receipt.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels for assigned components to meet customer demands through safety stock, min/max, historical, as well as other directed criteria.
  • Communicate potential line down threats with operational and departmental leaders.
  • May process warehouse inventory transfer requests.
  • Monitor and expedite unconfirmed, or upcoming and past due PO’s daily.
  • Support requests to obtain REACH, RoHS, Conflict Mineral, Prop 65 etc. certifications
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to identify or challenge discrepancies through negotiation.
  • Solicit price quotations from suppliers and maintain cost data in the business system software.
  • Communicate with Customer Service, any changes to pricing affecting current purchases.
  • Coordinate and administer the return of parts to suppliers via the Returned Goods Process.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable with urgency.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required. APICS, ISM or Greenbelt certification, or advanced degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years purchasing experience. ISO 9001 environment preferred.

SKILLS:

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

· Strong problem solving and PC software skills

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize job duties in a fast-paced work environment

· Excellent decision-making skills and independent judgement

Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol test.

Work hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Overtime maybe required to support business needs.
