SUMMARY

Responsible for the timely procurement of raw materials, products, and services to ensure the efficient production of quality products and timely shipping of orders. Works closely with Supply Chain Manager and other purchasing agents to assure purchasing, inventory and logistics objectives are met within cost and quality standards. Participates in strategic design and direction of the supply chain and inventory processes to support sales and manufacturing operations. Will ensure a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement while executing the day to day responsibilities as required by the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively participates in all day to day responsibilities related to procurement of goods and services as required by company needs.
• Interfaces with internal and external customers as necessary to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Includes sourcing and quoting of purchased materials and products.
• Ensures proper flow of inbound materials to meet production and customer requirements. Uses reporting tools and ERP to determine inventory trends and adjust safety stock, order points and order quantities.
• Participates in plant organizational and operational planning to meet business needs and profitability growth.
• Takes active role in the development of performance, efficiencies, and quality standards within the supply chain.
• Reviews and monitors inbound quality of purchased products. Tracks and reports supplier quality metrics. Works with suppliers to develop corrective actions for all quality issues.
• Monitors supplier on time delivery metrics to ensure consistent performance that meets requirements and demands of the manufacturing schedule.
• Develops strong working relationships with suppliers and uses data driven approach to determine preferred suppliers.
• Reviews and analyzes purchased product and raw material costs and cost trends. Creates monthly report of Purchase Price Variance for all raw materials, purchased inventory, and supplies.
• Actively participates in creating cost savings opportunities and formally tracks and reports these opportunities on monthly basis.
• Works closely with Supply Chain Manager and other purchasing agents to create synergy in the Supply Chain between Rhode Island and Florida manufacturing operations.
• Works alongside Operations Leadership to develop performance standards, key performance indicators, standardized operation processes for inventory operations and physical layouts for logistical flow through receiving, shipping and warehouse operations.
• Uses formal Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) to analyze problem statements and drive continuous improvements within the supply chain.
• Responsible for management of plant inventory. Evaluates and reports inventory performance (turns, cycle count accuracy, excess and obsolescence) on monthly and weekly basis. Leads team to high inventory performance by implementing organized cycle counting, weekly and monthly KPIs and annual physical inventory.
• Participates in daily management huddles and meetings to support business needs.
• Participate in managing plant budget, which includes controlling, material costs, inbound and outbound freight, inventory variance and obsolescence expenses.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree 4+ year’s relevant experience or 6+ years of applicable Supply Chain experience, with at least 3 years in a similar supply chain role.
• Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles and methods, including Kanban, Point Of Use (POUS) material, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, etc.
• Advanced Excel skills strongly desired (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
• Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
• Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
