Job Duties:
  • The Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst for our Greenville County office who manages the financial accounting and payment systems for SC Endeavors to include the review and maintenance of an accounting system for the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Project, South Carolina, verify and document financial transactions according to policies and procedures established by the South Carolina Department of Social Services. Develops collaborative accountability systems with all Department Heads working under limited supervision; Implements, reviews and manages current accounting policies and procedures. Oversee all financial reports for SC Endeavors and makes recommendations for improved efficiency.

  • Manages the SC Endeavors and T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Project budgets: with the maintenance of SC Endeavors' accounting system, to include table maintenance, report design and modification; with cost allocation, fiscal year-end closing and annual scholarship projections. Serves as a liaison between SC Endeavors and their financial partners by coordinating the data exchange process between SC Endeavors, SC Department of Social Services and Greenville Technical College and other Accounting entities. Prepares monthly reimbursement reports for SC Endeavors. Maintains accurate up-to-date data entry of accounts.

  • Manages T.E.A.C.H. budget. Processes purchase orders for scholarships and reimbursement for tuition, books, travel and work release time. Manages the program checking and accounting system in accordance with funding sources' audit requirements. Analyzes, prepares and distributes various financial and fiscal reports and statement on accounts for internal and external use.

  • Develops and Maintains accurate and up-to-date entry of accounts payable/cash disbursements including invoice records, purchase requests, computer postings and ledger. Establishes and maintains a database to track T.E.A.C.H. scholarships awarded. Maintains invoices for all expenditures.

  • Implements current SC Endeavors policies and procedures; Reviews current procedures and makes recommendations for improvement; Serves as key Department Financial Advisor for recommendations and adjustments to current policy and procedures, when needed. Develops and Directs in the training of for staff in the use of the SC Endeavors financial accounting systems.

  • Will be required to perform Red Cross shelter/emergency response duties as directed.

Agency Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, government, management, or public administration and two (2) years of financial, accounting or budgeting experience.

A Bachelor’s Degree in any other field and three (3) years of financial, accounting or budgeting experience.

A Master’s Degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance government, management, or public administration and one (1) year of financial, accounting or budgeting experience.

A Master’s Degree in any other field and three (3) years of financial, accounting or budgeting experience.
