The responsibilities of the Senior Accountant for the Coryell Collaborative Group will be to analyze complex financial records and oversee the bookkeepers and accountants invoices, journal entries and credit card transactions to ensure financials accuracies within the CCG reporting standards. It is the duty of the Senior Accountant to be highly analytical and detail oriented and monitor budget to actual variances found on a month-by-month basis along with comparative trends of the past financial records. A thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, GAAP standards, cash-flow forecasting, and month-end closing/financial preparation will be required. The Senior Accountant will need to independently record complex transactions such as depreciation and amortization, prepaid insurance, loan closings, owner equity and lines of credit across multiple companies.

The Senior Accountant will be required to interact with owners, subcontractors, internal departments, and managers regarding quality related issues such as internal audits, financial status, and standard operating procedures. This position will also complete various projects and tasks as assigned.

Required: 5 years experience in corporate, property management, or real estate accounting

Preferred: BA/BS in Accounting or related field

• Reviews invoices, petty cash card and credit card entries performed by the bookkeepers to ensure accuracy.
• Record necessary journal entries to keep the financials and cash flow reports up to date.
• Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation.
• Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment.
• Prepares supporting documentation for the monthly closing process and month end financials.
• Prepares the weekly cash flow analysis to predict future cash needs for the companies they oversee.
• Analyzes the monthly budget to actuals by incorporating historical results and future assumptions.
• Answers various accounting questions presented by coworkers in all departments.
• Finds ways to improve processes through advanced excel spreadsheet analysis and new programs that integrate with our current accounting programs.
• Makes recommendations, documents, and maintains adequate and effective internal controls.
• Prepares supporting documentation for the annual tax return.
• Makes recommendations to improve timely and accurate reporting within the accounting department.
• Complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Provides a highly analytical review to the Controller and CFO as it relates to the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective.
• Prepares monthly sales tax returns and submits them to the appropriate state agency.
• Troubleshoots the accounting software and resolves any issues.
• Ability to independently manage large bulk orders related to large projects, inventory tracking and contracts to ensure proper billing upon completion.
• Participates in training current and new co-workers.
