We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, highly organized, ability to meet deadlines, superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.

Responsibilities:

• Complete full month-end close for multiple entities consolidating to parent entityExperience with related party transactions and eliminations, and consolidating financials

Understanding the process of deferred revenue and revenue recognition on contracts

• Reconcile GL accounts to ensure accurate classifications, and maintaining work papers for balance sheet accounts for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews
• Financial Statement preparation, review and analysis in timely manner
• Financial reporting and board deck preparation for management
• Support corporate forecasting and analysis function; forecasting revenue, direct costs and SG&A/indirect costs at contract and corporate levels
• Cash flow management in short-range and long-range forecast
• Accounts Payable - receive vendor invoices, working with necessary parties to get approval and processing payments
• Accounts Receivable - generating, sending and tracking client invoices
• Payroll administration and reconciliation; to include 401(k) administration
• Assist in management of timesheet system
• Prepare and file business license and personal property tax returns
• Experience with Liaising with tax CPA firm for preparation of annual returns
• Experience with Quickbooks Desktop
• Demonstrated strong excel skills; this is a must
• Experience interfacing with CEO and management
• Any other ad-hoc reporting and analysis needs

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Strong math skills
• Deep knowledge of accounting principles
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Ability to handle information confidentially
• Familiarity with accounting software preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel
• Proven experience meeting regular deadlines
• Ability to commute to Herndon, Virginia for meetings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,491.54 - $108,750.72 per year
