Addison Group, in partnership with our fast-growth food production company in Southeast Los Angeles County, seeks a SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager on a temp with possibility of hire basis.

Job - The hired Senior Accountant will be hands-on with day-to-day accounting duties and assist in the preparation of Financial Statements. The Senior Accountant will report to a Controller.

Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) – Our client has a 100% onsite work schedule.

Compensation – Hourly rate starts at $45/hour and increases DOE. Overtime is paid. Should you be hired onto our client’s payroll, starting salary range begins at $90,000/year and increases DOE. Our client supplements base compensation with 100% paid medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401K plan with employer matching, PTO days, and equity potential.

DUTIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting

  • Take ownership of month-end and quarter-end closes
  • Record journal entries (such as depreciation and amortization, accruals, interest expenses, etc.)
  • Perform account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial statements

Manufacturing Accounting

  • Perform inventory accounting duties, including the use of the relevant Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting method utilized by the company
  • Maintain fixed assets records and all depreciation records

Miscellaneous Accounting

  • Process sales commissions to sales representatives
  • Prepare sales tax records
  • Assist in all external audits, including working in conjunction with external auditors
  • Interact with other departments (Sales, Purchasing) on all accounting issues
  • Accept various other duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance or an equivalent major
  • At least four (4) years of substantive General Ledger (G/L) accounting experience, including month and quarter closes

Preferred

  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Current or prior employment at a publicly traded company

SKILLS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Technical

  • Expert Level Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)

Interpersonal

  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and cooperate with fellow professionals in various disciplines and both office and out-of-office environments
  • Ability to cope with people of varying temperaments
  • Ability to take on a substantial workload to lead the team through example
  • Superior time management skills
