SUMMARY

The Security Visitor Escort will ensure visitors, construction, and maintenance personnel with restricted access are not exposed to classified or sensitive materials which they should not see on behalf of Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) in Vienna, VA and Washington DC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following :

  • Must have a Secret Clearance
  • Escort visitors within FinCEN office spaces and take measures to ensure that visitors are not inadvertently or unwittingly exposed to classified or sensitive materials which they should not see, overhear, or otherwise obtain access
  • Steer visitors away from desks, tabletops, computer screens, files, bookshelves, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Visitor Escorts shall present a professional appearance and maintain a uniform consisting of a blue blazer, a white dress shirt, a solid dark colored tie, black dress shoes, and dark colored dress pants. (The blazer will be provided by the company.)
  • Advise FinCEN employees working in areas being visited that uncleared persons are in the vicinity and to exercise appropriate precautions.
  • Maintain positive control of persons being escorted to include maintaining visibility of those individuals at all times
  • Enforce procedural rules and regulations pertaining to visitors
  • Ensure the safety of visitors, staff, property, and information
  • If anyone is observed not wearing a badge, escorts should politely inquire if they have a visitor or employee badge. If they do not, they shall escort the individual to the FinCEN Guards Visitor intake area.
  • Escorts are not to restrain visitors or employees. If an individual begins to walk away, escorts should contact the Guard Staff immediately via 2-way radio or by FinCEN issued cell phones
  • Provide strong customer service skills.
  • Notify the Office of Security and Guard Staff of any incidents involving visitors
  • As required, the COR may request additional Visitor Escorts for special events to include meetings, conferences, construction, and other events in the Washington, DC area
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Remains with guests at all times and remain off personal devices while escorting
  • Follows established protocols for each building entered.
  • Utilizes the most direct unclassified route to each destination.
  • Verifies names and appointment dates.


SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have a Secret Clearance .
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and pleasant positive demeanor.
  • Must be able to function solely or as part of a team.
  • Ability to wear the prescribed security uniform and maintain a professional appearance
  • Ability to resolve complaints and concerns
  • Ability to use established procedures
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Professional office setting and minor construction projects in office in both Vienna, VA and Washington DC FinCEN locations.
