Overview:
By Light is hiring a Tier I Security Analyst.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and analyzing output to identify security issues for remediation.
- Maintaining records of security monitoring and incident response activities, utilizing case management and ticketing system.
- Recognizing potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and following procedures to validate, troubleshoot, and escalate issues.
- Working knowledge of networking basics, such as TCP/IP and OSI model
- Firm understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems and command line tools
- Familiarity with detection and response tool.
- Knowledge of attack vectors, threat tactics, and attacker techniques
- Analyzes network events to determine the impact on current operations.
- Correlates threat data
- Escalates security events and incidents as appropriate
- Updates documentation to reflect current operational
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Client relationship management basics - able to answer questions and process customer requests
- Basic report writing skills - use templates and follow report writing standards
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
