The System Design & Architecture (SD&A) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within RMD, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

The Air and Missile Defense Systems (AMDS) Department is looking for Systems Engineers to support the department as a Section Leader. The AMDS Department supports RMD by providing world class Weapon Systems Engineering. Domain Expertise includes Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Network Design, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

The Section Leader will perform day-to-day management of a group of multi-disciplinary system engineers, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. Management duties include performance development and appraisal, salary planning, manpower planning, career coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies. Candidates will contribute to the technical oversight of employees, monitor program execution, and provide radar system subject matter expertise in direct support of program efforts and proposal activities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in empowering employees, leading and motivating teams, and fostering collaboration
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • This position requires either a U.S. Person or Non- U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Advanced degree in EE, CE, Physics, Math, ME, Aerospace
  • Knowledge of radar systems
  • Prior experience in a functional or leadership role
  • Proven ability and strong desire to facilitate career growth and knowledge transfer
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision making skills
  • Proven track record of effectively interacting with subordinates, customers, and other organizations and disciplines
  • Existing DoD Security Clearance
