Boone County Fiscal Court is now hiring for a Seasonal Receptionist within our Building Department, Starting pay is $18.00 per hour with no additional fringe benefits.
Job Summary
This seasonal clerical position within the Building Department with duties pertaining to receptionist and minor administrative duties such as filing and data for the Department. This position is under the direct supervision of the Chief Building Official.
Major Essential Duties
- Greets visitors and directs to appropriate staff.
- Assist in file maintenance as directed.
- Answers a multi-line switchboard, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals.
- Assist in arranging of meetings and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Assist to keep front desk area and lobby organized and professional in appearance.
- Distributes incoming/outgoing mail and inter-office correspondence.
- Performs other general administrative tasks related as required.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school or the equivalency supplemented by considerable experience as a building inspector; or any combination of experience and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Has knowledge and experience of relevant software applications – spreadsheets, word processing, and database management
- Has knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
- Is proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills.
