Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Experience managing end-to-end life cycle of complex technical programs
  • Understanding of complex data analysis
  • Experience in relevant Agile tools such as Jira or Version One, etc.
  • Experience overseeing software development teams
  • Proven experience managing vendors and working with distributed/remote teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills with a firm sense of accountability, ownership for the end-to-end project lifecycle, and exceptional Lean Agile Project Management skills

Pluses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field
  • Project Management/Scrum certifications
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics or Data Science

Day-to-Day

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Scrum Master to join their team. In this role, you will act as Scrum Lead for a skilled team of developers, data scientists, and quality engineers to design, develop, and implement software solutions.

As Scrum Lead, you will identify and resolve issues and roadblocks, working across teams that impact the team's productivity and hinder sprint backlog completion. Work directly with the Program Manager, Tech Lead, and Product Manager to recommend mitigation strategies to complete all the work within the sprint backlog. Lead daily Team Scrum meetings, provide senior leadership with agile metrics that reflect the team’s productivity and backlog burn down. Facilitate end of sprint retrospective meetings, maintaining a retrospective backlog and see that actions are worked to completion. Has a solid understanding of and direct experience in the agile software development life cycle. You will identify dependencies on other teams and coordinate deliverables to align with target release timelines. You will be responsible for communicating on roadmap/sprint map for release status. Being both a strategic and technical thinker, you must be able to interact with both technical and nontechnical personnel at all levels within the organization and you are a seasoned professional that understands Lean Agile principles and best practices, and that there is a difference between “doing” Agile versus “being” Agile.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Product Owner in building the backlog, prioritization, and refinement
  • Work directly with the Program Manager, Technical Lead, and Product Manager to identify and resolve issues and risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to complete all the work within the sprint backlog
  • Lead daily Team Scrum meetings
  • Provide senior leadership with agile metrics that reflect the team’s productivity and backlog burn down
  • Facilitate end of sprint retrospective meetings, maintaining a retrospective backlog and sees that actions are worked to completion
  • Capture innovations, lessons learned and successes and shares them for the wider good of others
  • Build positive team dynamics and relationships with customer/team staff; remedying dysfunction to maintain healthy and productive teams
  • Identify and quickly comprehend complex project dependencies and in collaboration with cross-functional team members, resolve dependencies and blockers
  • Track and report on key internal and external deliverables across the stakeholder group
  • Communicate status with larger organization, disseminating technical information about what's in queue, scheduling, timing, program status etc.
  • Have experience in Agile software development, Agile methods applied to DevOps environments and be an advocate and coach for “all things Agile” across the organization

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $52.00 - $55.00 per hour
