Duties:
- Provide technical and scientific support to customers in connection with enzyme applications in customers’ food and beverage processes or products.
- Research and develop new products, tools, and services for the corn wet-milling market.
- Identify and solve complex technical issues for improved starch separation.
- Develop plans and coordinate technical activities for Novozymes' customers or partners to maximize the benefit of Novozymes' proprietary enzymatic solutions.
- Coordinate meetings with customers to obtain feedback, troubleshoot issues, and optimize starch separation capabilities.
- Provide customer and industry technology insight to support New Product Development (NPD) projects for starch commodity products.
- Plan/guide lab work in accordance with the Application Qualification Agreement (AQA) for starch processing.
- Conduct/supervise lab work to meet customer and project expectations to improve efficiency in starch separation.
- Manage external testing to improve separation and yields, in collaboration with the responsible Technical Service Manager (TSM)/Business Manager.
- Develop and adapt new methods and procedures based on up-to-date knowledge of corn wet-milling operations.
- Represent Novozymes towards customers and other stakeholders on technical and/or project issues to improve yields and separation.
- Liaise with the global Technical Services (TS) and Research and Development (R&D) community in order to leverage the global organization as a platform for better solutions in starch separation.
- Requires up to 55% domestic and international travel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in chemical engineering, biotechnology, food technology, or related field; plus 4 years of experience in job offered or similar occupation.
- Requires knowledge of SAP, statistical analysis using JMP or related program, and mass and energy balances.
- Also requires experience with laboratory techniques and applied research for manufacturing plant trials; and LEAN principles for continuous improvement, process optimization, and key performance indicators.
