SCHOOL PAYROLL SECRETARY
Office of Safety and Youth Development
Supervisor: Jolan Nagi
LOCATION:
52 Chambers Street, New York, NY

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- NYCDOE Licensed and Appointed SCHOOL SECRETARY
- Satisfactory ratings for the previous 3 years
- Open to current and/or retired candidates meeting the licensing requirements
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Knowledge of EIS payroll system
- Satisfactory record of attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Education accounting systems and procedures
- Fluency in the use of various computer systems
- Prior experience with staff payroll
- Excellent writing skills
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under the direct supervision of the OSYD Director of Youth Support Services
- Fulfill routine secretarial tasks, including word processing, phone calling, attendance scanning, filing and correspondence
- Prepare per session service reports
- Enter staff attendance and other data into database
- Prepare statistical and attendance reports
- Prepare certificates and other related documents for the professional development program
- Answer phones, communicate with staff, perform related work
WORK SCHEDULE:
- September 2023 – Fall 2023 and beyond, Monday to Friday 3:00pm – 7:00pm (as needed)
- Saturdays (as needed)
- Mid-Winter Recess
- Spring Recess
- No school holidays
- Maximum 400 hours
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
