Location Description:

Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than 750 team members. The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and is home to 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products our customers know and love. Northfield is a town steeped in history, featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company got its start.

Responsibilities:
JOB FUNCTION
The Sanitation Specialist has responsibility for the overall performance and sanitation support in a manufacturing environment. The Sanitation Specialist is capable of understanding and performing essential repairs, adjustments and performing/coordinating preventative maintenance. Requires considerable judgment in determining work methods, performing daily tasks, and improving processes using data driven decisions. The Sanitation Specialist supports, implements, and maintains food safety, food safety culture, and quality practices as required through SQF.

Pay Rate: $29.45

JOB ACTIVITIES/DUTIES
1. Perform all tasks safely
2. Maintains and demonstrates a high level of technical understanding regarding individual process and impact on yield, rate, and availability.
3. Identifies, corrects or escalates performance conditions that negatively impact safety, quality, rate, yield, and uptime.
4. Actively participates in root cause analysis and drives corrective actions through resolution.
5. Thorough knowledge and understanding of SQF requirements, including ability to determine resolution of upset conditions
6. Supports, directs and performs Basic Equipment Care (BEC) tasks accurately and on time.
7. Records accurate data required for measuring overall performance of the assigned unit.
8. Identifies and drives continuous improvement opportunities.
9. Participates in all related programs improving product quality, efficiency and related preventative maintenance programs.
10. Supports, implements, and maintains food safety and quality practices as required through SQF, AIB or other requirements.
11. Maintains clean work areas, performs sanitation audits and develops action plans to correct problem areas.
12. Trains and coaches other employees learning new equipment, processes and/or procedures.
13. Following the Master Cleaning Schedules, perform sanitation audits and develop action plans to correct problem areas.
14. Will be responsible for designing and building sanitation containment structures for plant project work and maintenance. Will partner with contractor on activities for larger containment projects.
15. Coordinate containment and GIR mitigation activities with Quality Assurance team to ensure structure and cleaning plan meet specifications.
16. Perform and oversee the execution of set up, cleaning, and removal of bag house sock/cartridge replacement activities.
17. Perform cleaning duties in all areas of the Campbell Mill inside and outside according to detailed cleaning records based on daily, weekly and monthly schedules
18. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2-3 years of manufacturing or related experience

Skills and requirements:
  • Intermediate level mechanical knowledge to include the ability to understand the operation of department equipment
  • Intermediate level math and computer skills.
  • Ability to provide work direction to ensure efficiency across the assigned unit.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions
  • Ability to work individually and within a team environment and build positive professional relationships.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form in English.
  • Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of variables in situations where standardizations/alternatives may or may not exist.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts, standing, kneeling, climbing and walking for extended periods of the day; capable of repetitive gripping, pinching, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling with weight ranges up to 50 pounds; ability to perform repeated twisting, bending and reaching of upper and lower extremities; exposure to hot and/or humid environments, heights up to 30 ft., working on ladders, and confined spaces.
