Position Overview - Sales & Events Coordinator

Our Sales & Events Coordinator is responsible for providing exemplary customer service in support of groups and events taking place at the hotel.

Working as part of a fun and active group of over-achievers, you will engage with clients via phone, email, and in-person to finalize event details and coordinate the exchange of critical communications between key departments on behalf of the sales and catering team. You are super organized and detailed in communication with clients, and with internal departments! Examine opportunities and find creative solutions to clients’ needs, maximize business and profitability for the hotel, and thoroughly help align client expectations with hotel services to ensure an exceptional client experience. Show your project management skills by managing multiple projects at the same time while making guests and clients smile!

This is the perfect role for an individual looking to grow in the hospitality, hotel, or events field, or someone in another hotel role looking to gain experience in sales and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively assists the sales and catering team with proposals, client communications via telephone and email, event orders, and any other hotel-related documentation for group and catering events.
  • Conducts hotel site tours for the sales team, and meets with clients at the hotel, as needed to finalize details or discuss service opportunities for the hotel.
  • Assists group sales managers with event details, and group room needs with the front desk, rooming lists, and group resume detailing.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • 1+ years of catering, event, customer service or hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills - interpersonal, customer service, written, verbal
  • Fluent in English.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant preferred) preferred; or two years equivalent experience and/or training, Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant preferred.
  • Experience in managing/using sales automation (Delphi.fdc preferred) & PMS systems preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and similar software.
  • Current Drivers’ License.
  • Ability to work business hours on weekdays, with occasional schedule changes arranged in advance for special events or needs of the hotel.
