P&A Produce, a mid-size produce company in Brooklyn, is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Produce Salesperson. As a key member of our sales department, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base.

Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, including restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and other potential buyers. Actively seek out new sales opportunities to expand market reach.

Product Promotion: Educate customers about our wide range of high-quality produce, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Highlight the unique features and benefits of our products to stimulate interest and increase sales.

Order Management: Efficiently manage customer orders, ensuring accurate product selection, proper packaging, and timely delivery. Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate logistics and maintain smooth order fulfillment.

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and handling any issues that arise. Strive to build long-lasting relationships and exceed customer expectations.

Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Use this information to identify new market opportunities, improve sales strategies, and enhance our product offerings.

Qualifications:

Experience: No previous experience necessary. Previous experience in produce sales is preferred. Knowledge of the Brooklyn market and existing industry contacts are a plus.

Product Knowledge: We will train on the job. Strong knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, including their seasonality, quality indicators, and culinary uses is preferred as well as the ability to effectively communicate this knowledge to customers.

Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills. Ability to build and maintain productive business relationships.

Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation with a dedication to delivering exceptional experiences. Ability to understand customer needs, provide appropriate solutions, and exceed expectations.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate product features, conduct sales presentations, and communicate effectively with diverse customers.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and operate in a fast-paced environment.

Team Player: Collaborative and adaptable team player who can work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
