Job Description:

Pill counts in office and virtually
Drug Testing and Follow-up
Referrals to Specialists
Calling in medications
Assisting Providers with follow up appointments
UDS/Lab reviews
Relapse prevention plan
Blood draws
Very recent experience with hands on/direct patient care
*Patient Education (14-system review)
Must be able to handle and administer meds
Taking patient vitals
Entering basic patient information into chart / EMR
Updating the patients' history, care plan/treatment plan
Entering drug test results into the EMR

*Needs to be able to able to pass both State and FBI background checks
*We do regular employment random drug screens

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a member of the medical services team that provides screening, triage, crisis intervention, medical services, case coordination, and education and referral services. RN utilizes best practices to engage and help motivate patients to commit to treatment and to assist patients to identify and problem-solve individual and systemic barriers to treatment. Experience with Substance Abuse population preferred. Services will be delivered in the office with the patient present or virtually via telehealth. This position is primarily self managed with required number of visits per day/week to ensure all patients are cared for adequately.

Duties include:

• Evaluate detoxification needs of alcohol/drug patients using the CIWA (Clinical Indicators Withdrawal from Alcohol) and COW (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) evaluation tools and provide appropriate interventions based on the results
• Provide and document patient/family education regarding diagnosis, medication and/or medical treatment as indicated.
• Complete comprehensive initial nurse assessment for MAT program participants and provide on-going nursing
• Seek consultation from medical records coordinator or other members of the management team for direction when not clear about documentation procedures.
• Communicate concise and appropriate information throughout assigned shift with supervisors, managers and other team members.
• Record data for nursing and MAT statistical and tracking reports accurately and completely; assist with the collection of nursing QA data.
• Respond and comply with all administrative/managerial e-mail communication within the requested time frame.
• Administer and observe point of care urine drug screening, ensuring all results are documented correctly according to policy
• Complete medication counts, completing required documentation, notifying the appropriate provider/person should a count fail.
• Run medical group orientations for incoming new patients focusing on education about the medication, potential side effects, what to expect and the outline of the program.
• Working with medical staff to complete referrals for specialist care for patients, ensuring the referral is completed and following up with the patient and referred provider.
• Complete observed dosing of patient medication in person and virtually.
