Responsibilities

Primary Function:

The Registered Nurse, RN for the ETC (Emergency Care Trauma Unit) functions within the Professional Nursing Law, according to professional standards, and his/her level of knowledge and experience. He/she assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients (or patient) for a designated time frame by prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care. The Professional Registered Nurse provides care to the patient population of a specified clinical unit.

Qualifications

Education & Training:

BSN required, or in progress to be completed within 2 years of hire

Experience:

Previous RN experience preferred

Licensure, Certifications, & Registration Requirements:

• Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Maintains current licensure
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required
• ACLS & PALS certification through American Heart Association preferred
• Certification in clinical practice area preferred
• Membership in Professional Organization encouraged
• RN's with under one year of experience will be automatically enrolled into the Nurse Residency Program
  

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
