We are currently looking for a Risk Advisor in our Finance Risk Department which is part of Vanguard’s Global Risk and Security Division. Your role will involve working with leadership of Vanguard’s Finance functions and advising on a range of financial, operational, and strategic matters to support risk-informed decisions.

You will be seen as a valued partner and trusted resource to enable Vanguard’s business strategy; protect clients, crew and assets; and steward a risk-smart culture. The team is comprised of collaborative, hard-working, highly motivated, and technically-skilled professionals who consistently deliver high-quality work in an exciting and multifaceted environment. With a number of critical initiatives underway, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership to help them understand risk implications while proposing solutions to optimize business outcomes within the organization’s risk appetite.

In this role you will:

• Apply conceptual thinking and business expertise to partner with the global finance organization and manage risk for the overall enterprise, inclusive of: Corporate Finance, Funds, and Investors.
• Partner with the finance organization to mitigate risk and optimize process efficiency. Use subject matter expertise to design effective controls and make recommendations for developing new risk management strategies.
• Provide consultation, facilitation, and analytical support as new products, services, processes, and procedures are developed.
• Maintain relationships with divisional leadership and risk partners and impact the future shape of the risk organization. A successful candidate will bring a solutions-oriented, global mindset to support ongoing operations and change initiatives.

What it takes:

• Experience in auditing, accounting operations, or compliance from which knowledge of internal control and risk management was obtained
• Investment management industry experience and/or Financial industry experience preferred, but not required
• 6+ years of relevant work experience
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required; CPA/CFA and graduate degree preferred
• Broad conceptual thinking with the ability to align risk management strategies with business objectives

The Finance Risk Department is located in Malvern, PA and also covers risk related to financial operations in Scottsdale, AZ and the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

Special Factors:

• This is a hybrid role with Tues, Wed, Thurs in the office and Mon, Fri will be remote.
• May require occasional travel.
• FINRA licenses are not required. Those currently holding licenses can maintain them.
• Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
