POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Rink Worker

DEPARTMENT: Athletics

REPORTS TO: Athletics Facility Manager

SALARY RANGE: Salary Commensurate with Experience

POSITION / FTE: Seasonal, Per Diem

Position Requirements:

The duties and responsibilities of the Rink Worker include, but are not limited to:

Perform simple mechanical tasks relating to the operation of twin rinks.
Assist Rink Manager in preparing and maintaining ice rinks and associated areas.
Operate and maintain ice re-surfacer and edger.
Operate and perform routine maintenance on ice-making equipment.
Perform routine and repair maintenance during and at the end of the season.
Secure and lock up rinks after events.
General custodial duties including cleaning rink areas, team rooms, halls, and boxes.
Shovel snow surrounding the rinks.
Sharpen and repair skates.
Contact emergency personnel in the event of a skating emergency and assist in
securing the situation as needed.
Emergency call in as needed.
Assist the Rink Manager and the Director of Facilities as needed.
Minimum Desired Qualifications:

High School diploma
Ability to lift 65 lbs.
Ability to work in a cold environment on ice for extended periods of time.
Ability to interface with staff, faculty and students in a friendly manner.
