Symphony Pointe in Omaha, NE is hiring for a Resident Experience Director! We are Agemark Senior Living Communities and for the fourth consecutive year, we are certified #22 in Fortune Best Workplaces for Aging Services 2022. This is Agemark Senior Living’s newest property and is scheduled to open in August of 2023! This exciting role will plan and implement a robust, well-rounded activity program that includes both group and individual options for Independent Living Residents.

Resident Experience Director position details:

  • Communicate with residents about the activity program through a monthly activity calendar and newsletter, digital displays, special events, or series.
  • Manage reservations for activities with threshold enrollments and dates.
  • Arrange and implement a variety of activities to encourage physical wellness including group and personalized fitness (aquatics, strength, cardio, stretching, walking), as well as fitness with sports (bocce ball, pickleball, and golf).
  • Create and finalize a multi-faceted array of cultural, educational, and spiritual activities to include classes involving medication, yoga, art/crafts, and writing; speakers specializing in worship, education, etc. along with volunteer opportunities and finally arrange excursions involving shopping, museums, galleries, concerts, and other local attractions or events. Option to set up overnight trips to special destinations/events.
  • Encourage resident feedback and participation in advisory meetings with a monthly social committee and facilitate special interest groups pertaining to a book club, bridge club, or other social clubs.
  • Develop events that will attract and engage prospective residents in tandem with the leasing team.
  • Hire and manage contracted vendors such as entertainers, instructors, personal trainers, wellness coaches, tour guides, drivers, spiritual advisors, and the like.
  • Maintain documentation of resident preferences, goals, participation, and feedback.
  • Orchestrate social events and leisure activities including concerts, parties, trivia nights, movies, dances, happy hour, celebrations, dining out, wine tastings, coffee clubs, card nights, and other occasions.
  • Train and supervise staff to assist with activities and events. Orient new staff members regarding resident engagement and procedures.
  • Assist in developing a budget with General Manager for the Resident Experience program using a monthly guide and approval for special purchases.
  • Coordinate transportation and drive the community vehicle(s) for appointments and activities.
  • Arrange recognition of a resident birthday, anniversaries, and milestones.
  • Host and invite pre-depositors to attend events monthly.
  • Guide new residents to the community’s activity staff, program options, spaces, procedures, calendars, equipment, and various resources at the property.
  • Assign nameplates, parking spots, and locker storage prior to move-in.
  • Develop and train new Resident Ambassadors to oversee Symphony Pointe’s Welcome Program for new residents.
  • Communicate needs, concerns, and interests to relevant parties to meet the standards of the Quality Assurance Program in an efficient and effective manner.

Resident Experience Director Education, Experience, and Knowledge needed:

  • Propensity to convey and engage with seniors and the population in activities.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to recognize process improvements.
  • Knowledge of the Greater Omaha community as well as the route for driving
  • Manage change daily while maintaining confidentiality pertaining to residents, prospective residents, facility operations, and staff.
  • Scheduled hours will include possible weekends and evenings.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy, Education, or a similar field preferred.
  • Experience in geriatrics, senior care or alike industry preferred.
