Job description
Description:The Residence Aide, under the supervision and direction of the Residence Director, assists residents with activities of daily living, provides support and care to foster independence and individuality, and assists with food service and housekeeping as needed. Full time position, shift time: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, five shifts per week.
Requirements:
Prior caregiving experience preferred, high school diploma or GED preferred, completion of nurse aide training a plus.
Demonstrated ability to read and communicate, both verbally and in writing. Personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, and dependability. Demonstrate effective communication skills with staff members, residents and family members. Must have the ability to accept direction and follow instructions and work independent of direct supervision. Ability to access entire facility and grounds independently and respond rapidly in an emergency, to lift at least 50 lbs. with proper lifting techniques, and able to perform physical labor on a daily basis.
