Job description
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Medicine within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Temporary Research Assistant helps the PI perform research activities. Performs common lab techniques and procedures as well as work on specific studies.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Helps with ongoing lab activities and performs assays including western blotting, cell culture, DNA electroporation into animal and bacterial cells, plasmid preparations, immunohistochemistry, calcium uptake assays etc.
- Prepares reagents, solutions /buffers, gels, etc.
- PCR genotyping
- Experience in working with mice is preferable
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday

- Newark, NJ 07103: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Research: 1 year (Preferred)
- biological research: 1 year (Preferred)
