Salary Range: $25-$35

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Dr. Anthony Annett and Prof. Jeffrey Sachs are writing a new introductory textbook this year grounded in sustainable development, economic history, economic ethics, and the history of economic and ethical thought. This is meant to be a beginner-level textbook for economics students, proposing a new economics based in sustainable development. Preliminary draft of some of the chapters have been completed, and the goal is to finish writing the manuscript in 2023.

Responsibilities

Data collection and management

Preparation of graphs and maps

Preparation of special boxes

Management of references and footnotes

Fact-checking and source verification

Literature collection on topics of ethics, sustainable development, economic history, and other various issues

Drafting and editing of textbook chapters

Feedback on the concept and table of contents

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be detail-oriented, work well with minimal supervision, and have excellent writing and editing skills. Background or interest in sustainable development strongly preferred. This will require a solid knowledge of both microeconomics and macroeconomics at the MA level.

Preferred Qualifications

A master’s degree in economics and/or Finance is preferred.
