Mobility City of Hampton Roads is the premier mobility equipment repair, sales, and rental company in the region, and we are growing quickly. We provide service to veterans, seniors, and the physically challenged through our mobile service vans and experiential showrooms, fixing, and providing equipment such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters, wheelchairs and power wheelchairs, power lift chairs, vehicle lifts, stairlifts, access ramps, and home hospital beds.

Our customers come to us looking for help and advice to address their mobility and safety challenges. As a repair and maintenance tech and mechanic, you will be a primary contact person for customers by visiting their homes to evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair their mobility equipment. You’ll also install, maintain, and repair stairlifts, mobility ramps, and install lifts on vehicles. We are looking for a person who is empathic, helpful, resourceful, and can inspire trust and confidence in our ability to help our customers address their mobility challenges and have their best possible quality-of-life.

This is a full-time position, and we offer competitive pay, options for health insurance, a 401K program, and up to three weeks of Paid Time Off per year.

We’re a preferred dealer and service partner for many of the biggest manufacturers of mobility equipment in the United States, and you’ll participate in their training programs as well. Job Responsibilities:

· Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers by listening carefully to understand their needs, suggesting solutions, and helping customers learn how use and operate their mobility equipment.

· Solve customer issues by following best practices, processes, and procedures.

· Evaluate malfunctioning/broken equipment and recommend a repair/solution. Document the repair and solution and follow up by ordering parts and completing repairs as needed.

· Deliver mobility equipment and supplies to customer’s home. Install/setup equipment and demonstrate proper operation for the customer.

· Complete documentation of work as required by Mobility City policy and guidelines. Utilize computers and apps to complete customer account management tasks.

· Learn about what we sell and service, how the equipment benefits the customers, and how the equipment operates so you can confidently help customers

Qualifications:

· Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly-changing environment

· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

· Ability to learn and apply knowledge to solve problems for our customers

· Ability to read and understand the service call and manufacturer-provided documents.

· Previous repair and maintenance, customer service, or related experience is preferred

· High attention to accuracy and detail

· Reliable and punctual

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace

· High School diploma or GED

· Current valid driver’s license

· Pass criminal background check and drug test

· Must be able to work flexible hours between 8am and 6pm Monday-Friday, and 10am to 4pm Saturday, plus occasional evenings, Sunday, and holidays during peak periods.
