Job description

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring, operation, and analysis of a fleet of wind and solar farms, and battery storage facilities.

Responsibilities

• Remotely monitor and reset wind turbines, solar inverters, and other plant equipment
• Manage balance of plant controls: power/curtailments, voltage, reactive power, other controls
• Communicate and coordinate with site technicians, customers, and power markets
• Analyze data, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues
• Monitor weather at sites for safety of maintenance technicians
• Work independently or collaboratively on projects and initiatives that enhance the operations and reliability of the control center
• Position will be on a rotating shift that will require the person to work nights, weekends, and some holidays

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in a course of study that demonstrates strong analytical and technical skills
• Or Associate Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Or military service experience in positions that require communication and analytical and decision-making skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Problem solving and critical thinking

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with wind turbines and SCADA software
• Knowledge of data monitoring software such as PI
