POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Registered Nurse-Medical/Surgical is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes
- Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care
- Collect patients health data and analyze assessment data in determining patient problems Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient
- Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes Implement interventions identified in the plan of care
- Evaluate patients progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines
- Delegate task to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing Conduct discharge planning, assisting the patient/significant others to obtain knowledge about illness, injury prevention, and teaching
- Maintain confidentiality with all information Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Active RN Licensure per state requirements
- BLS Certification Required
- Minimum of 2 years Med Surg RN experience in a hospital setting required
- Candidate must have: Excellent interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills
- Ability to multi-task constantly, react to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions and demonstrate maturity and accountability
- Ability to perform work when no directions are given, and give directions to others
- Ability to remain flexible, organized, professional and able to analyze, make sound decisions under stressful or crisis situations
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of current computer systems, equipment or programs used in the organization, knowledge of Epic a plus!
Education:
- ASN required. BSN preferred
