Primary responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. Plans provide, and documents discharge planning, teaching, and educates patients, family members, or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Assures that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of all subordinate nursing personnel. Primary responsibility is to the Med-Surg, Emergency Room, and Swing Bed units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilizing the nursing processes completes comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment of patients.
• Using nursing process, plan and provides patient/ family care and evaluates patients’ response to care provided and redirects care as necessary.
• Implements and monitors appropriate nursing care to meet patient’s needs and identify expected outcome for planned nursing interventions and ensure vital information is passed between shifts
• Participates in the health care educational needs of the client, family, and significant others with regard to patient care needs, disease prevention, and health maintenance measures.
• Maintains accurate and timely records according to hospital policy and procedures.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Work performed in an office and hospital settings.
• Subject to long, irregular hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• May be exposed to virus, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.

• Regulatory requirements
• Principles of patient satisfaction
• Strong interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication skills
• Knows and practices the requirements of the Board of Nursing Examiners Act

Education and Experience:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Currently licensed in the State of Oklahoma
• One to Two years of experience in clinical nursing.
• Current BCLS
• Current ACLS
