Job Description:

Optim Medical Center - Tattnall is seeking a full time Registered Nurse Clinical Educator for our Reidsville, Brunswick, Savannah, and Sylvania locations.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledgeable on education multiple disciplines.
• Ability to communicate with different generations.
• Rounds at each location with Chief Clinical Officer, manager, and staff to discuss educational needs.
• Reviews and updates policies and procedures as needed.
• Supports the clinical management team in the formulation of objectives, philosophy, goals, policies and the evaluation of the education process and programs for the department.
• Participates in nursing/clinical meetings with the purpose of continually improving the patient care delivery through an inter-disciplinary approach.
• Assists the team in identifying the educational needs of all staff relative to the constantly changing environment.
• Promotes a learning environment that utilizes adult learning/teaching techniques and encourages student feedback. Assures that course outlines challenge students academically and technically and meet current state and regional standards.
• Assists in developing, organizing and administering the department orientation process of new employees to ensure quality. Completes weekly orientee evaluations with input from assigned preceptors and reviews with new staff.
• Participates in professional growth and development programs. Attends activities/programs, which further enhance own professional growth. Actively participates in hospital and community educational committees/programs.
• Communicates changes in health care legislation, educational standards, care delivery theories, new patient safety goals and practices related to department-specific practice.
• Serves as a positive role model and representative of the hospital. Maintains membership on pertinent task forces relative to education. Responds as a credible authority and responsible resource person.
• Trains staff on continuing education for regulatory/licensure requirements to include instructing competencies classes. Available to provide evening/weekend classes for employees.
• Documents training, classes, attendance and assists in establishing threshold for competence for staff members.
• Establishes and maintains printed material and other media for the department.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

• RN. Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.
