* How hard is the driver unload?
It is a challenging hard job but is very financially rewarding and great exercise, it can take some time to acclimate to the unload. We will support you thought the whole process!

* How much money will I make?
$104,000 per year as long as conditions are met.
* When is my home time and 34 hour reset?
98% of the time it you will be off either Friday or Saturday for a 34 hour reset depending on your home location. Due to HOS or customer needs it could be any day of the week, we do get you home weekly.
* What shift will I work?
Deliveries start in the early AM you will be driving to your first stop the day before and taking a 10 hour break. From there you will deliver throughout the day to multiple FD stores. The next day you will driver back to the DC to pick up your next load and then to your next delivery location for another 10 hr break before delivery the next day. Drive a day, unload a day.
* When can I take a Vacation?
After 1 year you will get a week of vacation and after 2 years, you can take 2 weeks of vacation. And after 7 years, 3 weeks. This totals up to 4 weeks at 10 years!
* What kind of truck will I get?
Our fleet is comprised of Internationals, Freightliners and Kenworths

If you live within our hiring area, you could be the perfect dedicated driver to add to our Family Dollar team! Some of the best parts of being a dedicated driver are getting home weekly for a 34 hour reset, and driving an average of 1100 miles per week. In addition to mileage pay, you’ll earn $235 per load inclusive for the unload at all stops . Not only that, we’ll guarantee you $2000 per week as long as you meet availability and service requirements.

As part of the Family Dollar dedicated team, you’ll run dry, hand unload freight to various Family Dollar locations in IN MI IL OH – all within 500 miles of the Ashley IN distribution center. 100% of freight will be live unloaded at Family Dollar stores.

To give you the best possible driving experience, the distribution center includes on-site staff, including safety support .

Runs will include nights, weekends, and holidays that fall within your workweek. Routes also typically require 3-5 stops per unload and potentially a 34 hour break on the road each week.

But being a dedicated driver is no easy task. So, the way we see it, you deserve vacation time more than anyone. That’s why after a year on the account, you can take a week of paid vacation. After 2 years, you can take 2 weeks of vacation. And after 7 years, 3 weeks and 4 weeks of vacation after 10 years.

If you choose to join the team, you’ll go through a short orientation to help get you started on the right foot. And you’ll get paid to do it. You’ll receive 1 week of ride-along training ( a minimum of 3 loads) at $150 per day.
