Summary

Founded in 2002, Beyond Basics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to eradicate illiteracy, transforming the lives of students and creating stronger communities. Our one-on-one, multisensory tutoring program helps students achieve grade-level proficiency in reading in an average of six weeks. In addition to our structured literacy interventions, we cultivate curiosity and encourage a love of lifelong learning with fine arts activities that expand horizons.

The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for driving candidates for all the open positions within the company. The primary focus of this person will be to drive candidate activity to expand our Reading Tutor workforce. This is expected to be a higher volume of candidate activity targeted at 30 hires per month. Additionally, this person will be called up to help design job postings, develop advertising and sourcing strategies, contact and screen candidates through databases and social media, conducting interviews, filing paperwork, and keeping abreast of employment law and legislation.

A successful recruiter will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, is organized and detail-oriented, and appreciates the value of follow up and status updates, both to outside recruits and internal customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive activity for all company hiring needs. Primarily, this will be for the higher volume area of recruiting for Reading Tutors.
  • Collaborating with department managers to align recruitment needs.
  • Develop strategies to advertise and recruit for various positions within the growing organization.
  • Attracting suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, social media, etc.
  • Conducting interviews and sorting through applicants to fill open positions.
  • Assessing applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions.
  • Completing the onboarding process.
  • Promoting the company's reputation and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity.
  • Managing internship programs.
  • Providing recruitment reports to team managers.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed
