Part-time Night shifts every other weekend from 12:00 am to 8:00 am.


Job Objective(s)

The Security/Receptionist is expected to provide courteous and efficient reception service to residents, staff, and visitors and to serve as a central communication center during emergencies. In addition, to undertake appropriate administrative duties as delegated with the approval of the Office Manager. This position also provides protective oversight and emergency response to the residents of our campuses after business hours, including weekends and holidays, by corporate and security guidelines, policies, and procedures.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure residents receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention.
  • Emergency response to both tenants and building, following prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Keep the building secure by performing periodic rounds, entrance/exit checks, and watching monitors near the security desk.
  • Complete light maintenance tasks such as cleaning common areas of the building, maintaining sidewalks in case of winter weather, and assisting tenants with minor problems in apartments.
  • Ensure that tenants and guests follow the rules/policies of the campus.
  • Light clerical duties
  • Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, and requests from the Campus Administrator, Office Manager, or other personnel.
  • Maintain a good flow of communication with other personnel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be able to write detailed reports.
  • Dependability sets an excellent personal example of attitude and performance and can work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to relate to all residents, visitors, and vendors in a patient, compassionate and courteous manner.

Physical Requirements (based on essential responsibilities)

Must be able to perform tasks such as frequently, but not limited to, those listed below:

  • Sit and repeatedly stand during the shift to respond to customers, phones, alarms, doors, etc.
  • Sits for prolonged periods
  • See objects within 10 feet to monitor work areas, computer monitors, and security cameras.

Must be able to perform tasks such as continuously, but not limited to, those listed below:

  • Move, push, pull and lift objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Use hands and arms to grasp, push, and pull drawers and wheeled office chairs and manipulate the computer keyboard.
  • Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and carry objects
  • Walk and sit for prolonged periods
  • Speak clearly and make self-understood in face-to-face interactions and over the phone and paging systems.
  • See objects closely to read directions, instructions, computer screens, etc.
  • Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.

Environment

Works indoors in a climate-controlled environment the majority of the time.
