Provides Residents, families, visitors, volunteers and staff with the highest level of customer service; performs a range of general customer service duties, including answering incoming phone calls, greeting those that enter the building, and assisting Residents with various needs; performs secretarial and clerical duties as assigned, including maintaining a resident petty cash account, receiving and sorting mail, receipting cash and checks; and assisting the Business Office as requested.

JOB DUTIES

The role includes customer service and general support duties.

  • Provide customer service and support for Residents, visitors, volunteers and staff.
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with various business machines and information processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of each department’s function and responsibilities of the employees within these departments.
  • Direct visitors, family members and residents with any questions to the appropriate department.
  • Sort and distribute all incoming mail, prepare out-going mail, and forward mail when appropriate.
  • Receipt cash and checks, and forward all monies received to the Business Office in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a resident petty cash account, and keep the Administrative Assistant informed of the current balance.
  • Make beauty/barber appointments for all residents, in conjunction with floor staff and the beautician, and maintain the authorizations for these services in binder.
  • Keep resident room list up to date, and distribute the list to the appropriate staff members.
  • Provide support to other departments as directed.
  • Perform any additional duties as requested by the Business Office.

QUALIFICATIONS

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Must possess exceptional customer service skills, have excellent grammar skills, and also possess knowledge of basic accounting principles, typing, filing, various correspondence work and telephone procedures. Hours of availability needed for this position is 10a-8p.
