Receiving Clerk

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Receiving Clerk at our Genesis Seating location in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

HOURS: 7am-3:30pm

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY: The receiving clerk is responsible for accepting, checking, and processing deliveries at Genesis Seating. Accurate physical receiving of materials/product in order to maintain integrity of inventory controls, and insures delivery of materials/product to the proper department.

What you will be doing:

  • Direct delivery drivers to the correct unloading dock
  • Inspect the condition and quality of delivered items and matches them with the received product list
  • Properly inputs received material into computer system and forwards prper documentation to accounts payable
  • Prepare and keep records of goods received
  • Compete daily receiving entries into computer system
  • Check deliveries against orders, invoices, manifests, and other documents to verify accuracy
  • Record and report damaged items
  • Store stock in an orderly manner in appropriate locations
  • Correctly route items to relevant departments and process inter-compnay transfers
  • Ordganize stock and maintain invetnroy
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and managers
  • Maintains a clean working environment
  • Comply with standard safety and operating procedures
  • Assist in other departments as needed, perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

A few things you will need.

  • Capable of problem solving to reduce errors, improve quality and delivery
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Competency in excel and other Microsoft tools
  • Self starter and work efficiency under minimal supervision
  • Excellent attendance, above average computer skills, and expereice with ERP systems
  • Basic math proficiency and the ability to read and write legibly
  • Must demonstrate good attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to exhibit good judgement related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery of parts, processes and product

Some things we consider a plus:

  • Preference for 2+ years experience in transportation planning and freight management in a manufacturing seting
