Role

• As an Origination Processor the candidate will work with real estate referrals sources such as MSC, Online Applications, Real Estate Agents to import and originate member real estate loan applications and assure the required documentation to process Real Estate applications are collected and ready for submission.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Originate real estate loan applications according to Fannie Mae and AltaOne Federal Credit Union policies and guidelines.
• Contact borrowers to collect and package required documentation for submission to processor/underwriter.
• Meet/Contact borrowers to maintain good relationships by guiding them through the entire loan process and provide updates as needed.
• Interact with referral sources such as Real Estate Agents and MSC Staff as needed.
• Prepares records and reports as requested regarding loan originations as needed.
• Responds to inquiries from prospective members regarding all types of real estate loan products, provide requested information regarding lending policies as needed.
• Process and complete other duties as assigned.
• Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Experience

• Has experience with different types of loans including but not limited to first mortgages, second mortgages, and HELOCs.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

• A high school degree or GED is required.

Interpersonal Skills

• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving and obtaining information, as well as advising or referring, which commonly require shorter discussions.

Other Skills

• Can type at 40 wpm.

Physical Requirements

• Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, computer terminal and keyboard, facsimile, calculator, and understands computer basics. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private or shared work area with minimal noise.

• Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters. Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) to prepare loan files for submission to loan underwriters, normally achieved through a high school education.
