As a Medical Billing (AR) Specialist, you will work assigned AR projects, and assist all internal Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) teams and insurance companies by resolving disputes, checking claim status, and filing claims as needed.
  • Work through a denial or insurance tickler to resolve claim denials or claims that have not been processed by the payer
  • Provide insurance representatives with accurate information regarding the account status and resolve any questions, process payments, and follow up on accounts in a timely manner
  • Work online payer systems to check for claim status and eligibility as needed
  • Work correspondence / returned mail to ensure patient and insurance requests are being worked in a timely manner
  • Maintain productivity goals and meet deadlines set by the AR Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned
What you bring:
Required Experience/Knowledge: Medical billing experience and/or clinical knowledge, basic understanding of how insurance processes medical claims, proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook), ability to toggle between multiple computer systems and sources of information, ability to multi-task, detail oriented, excellent customer service skills and independent worker with a problem-solving mindset

Preferred or Desired Experience/Knowledge: Experience collaborating with multiple payers (government and commercial), denials, account resolution, etc. Epic systems experience

Education: High School diploma or equivalent education/experience

Work Environment: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day; high volume telephone customer service.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment, multi-line telephone, computer, fax, copiers, printers, etc.
