Job description
Administers radiation therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of radiation oncology team; supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program.
- Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of the radiation oncologist and Supervisor of Radiation Therapy
- Takes port films/portal images, files them away, duplicates set ups and identifies issues with port film utilizing knowledge to correct patient positioning
- Performs accurate block cutting and creates customs molds for precise simple dose calculations as needed; performs simulations and fabrication of treatment devices/digital MLC documents
- Maintains patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record
- Performs simulations for the setup of patients' radiation treatments
- Maintains patient appointment schedule and submits correct billing information
- Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students;
- Performs quality assurance in the form of chart audits and equipment testing
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Required Minimum Education: 2 years/Associates Degree
Specialty/Major: Radiation Therapy
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):
Required: Current Radiation Therapy license in the state of Ohio; current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Previous clinical practice as a RT.(T) preferred
