The role you’ll contribute:

The Radiation Oncology Manager oversees the clinical, clerical, and financial, operations of a hospital Radiation Oncology Center. Manages internal operations; implements policies, procedures, and practices; ensures staff conformance to procedures and efficient functioning of the center. Responsible for the center’s patient volumes, marketing, regulatory compliance, facility maintenance, and equipment. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Provides regular, standardized volume and referral reports, as well as volume strategy updates to campus leadership. Develops strategies to expand the referral base and retain existing business. Works with campus and marketing teams to promote the Center
  • Responsible for the efficient use of the department’s operating budget. Manages daily expenses, ensures timely and accurate billing and collections, and provides monthly budget report to campus and leadership. Develops annual operating and capital budget for the department, in conjunction with the campus and leadership, and implements corrective action plans, in conjunction with the campus and leadership, to correct budget variances, as needed
  • Develops appropriate relationships with the department’s referring physicians and their office staff
  • Monitors patient satisfaction within the department. Develops and implements strategies to improve patient satisfaction, customer service (to patients and physicians), and addresses any patient/physician complaints or safety issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinates equipment and facilities maintenance. Ensures equipment is maintained; according, to required service schedules, and addresses any facility or equipment issues in a timely manner. Coordinates implementation of new technology and facilities
  • Works with Physics Department on implementation of new treatment techniques and methods, and new equipment
  • May have direct oversight of departmental staff. Manages all human resources issues related to departmental staff under his/her direct supervision, including hiring, firing, conducting employee evaluations, etc. Coaches staff and coordinates training, as needed. May provide coverage at other sites as needed
  • Monitors staff satisfaction and engagement scores, develops and implements plans to increase scores, as required, and ensures staff awareness and engagement in campus and departmental initiatives. Keeps staff, physicians, and leadership, informed of pertinent information relating to the department
  • Ensures regulatory readiness for all governing bodies by monitoring results of tracers and corrective action plans. Updates leadership regularly on process of corrective action plans
  • Actively participates in campus leadership meetings and department leadership meetings when requested
  • May be required to provide clinical coverage
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent education
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS certification
