The Role

The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting in the detection, containment & correction of quality issues both internal & external. Reporting of these issues to responsible groups in a timely manner to prevent further non-conformities. This person will also assist with implementing preventative measures to control processes, non-conforming materials, and methods, to reduce internal quality lose and ensure the highest quality & customer satisfaction.

• 
  Supports the reduction in defective parts, process errors/inefficiencies and warranty costs.
• Supports in maintaining compliance to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO450001 Quality, Environmental, Health and safety Management System and all applicable Quality Excellence Documents.
• The person implements incoming inspection plan, both internal (AC group) and external (local source), doing incoming inspection, and submitting the NCR if there is a quality issue.
• Performs in-process quality control audits to verify product quality & processes are ok.
• Supports calibration, both PT & CT groups
• Supports coordination and reporting of CAR (Corrective Action Report)
• Dimensional inspections of received parts using basic hand metrology tools & CMM equipment
• Inspect all incoming material confirming material is properly identified, with no defects or damage.
• Perform Dimensional and weld inspections
• Perform residual torque checks to confirm critical joints are to specification.
• Perform paint & coating adhesion testing ensure product are to AC standards
• Inspect parts and audit products according to quality and safety standards. It can be performed through visual, layout, dimensional, or non-destructive tests.
• Ensure the compliance and report any non-conformities.
• Process rejections to suppliers with reactivity and track them until completion.
• Provides support to production, identifies problems in manufacturing & assembly process, communicate within the team to provide solutions.
• Train operators in the best quality practices from the company procedures.

What we expect of you?

None

• 
  3+ years of Quality experience in fast paced Manufacturing environment.
• Must have prior knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting detailed drawings
• Proven knowledge of micrometer, calipers, go/no-go gages, thread pitch, torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, dead weight testers, multi-meters (Digital voltmeters), and various precision instruments for metrology.
• Working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (Manual or DCC).
• Strong Microsoft software application skills (Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word).
• Strong communication skills, ability to explain findings to a wide range of personnel, including, operators, engineers, supervisors, managers, and suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of paint & coating adhesion testing and standards is a plus

  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

• 
  Has Strong mechanical aptitude & knowledge of standard hand tools
• Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
• Written communication skills with accuracy, and be attentive to details
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Organized in your work
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and published specifications
• Familiar with the use of mechanical measurement tools.
• Experience of instilling best practice within a manufacturing operational environment.
• Experience / knowledge of validation and verification
• Experience and knowledge of Manufacturing operations and processes (mechanical or electrical).
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite. Power BI, Minitab, JMP desirable.
• Proficient in English – written and speaking.
