QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Position Summary/Objective

This position helps to ensure we are meeting our requirements to our customers. This is made possible by inspecting completed conductor according to internal and customer specifications to ensure product quality. The quality technician will utilize specialized test equipment including but not limited to microscopes, Kocour testing with chemicals, testing of tooling, dies, and emulsions. This role will help with both product and process quality to ensure we are able to produce consistent product quality. Calibration of equipment will be conducted by this role. Utilization of a computer will be vital throughout the role.

This position will serve as an auditor of production process to assist and improve processes. Job requires bending and pushing with weight limits ranging from 20 to 60 lbs.

This position will also assist in the maintenance and upkeep of production tooling in a detailed manner.

Essential Functions

• Perform product quality testing on products
• Perform audits of the production functions to help drive improvement in processes.
• Assess the remaining life of product tooling and replacement cycle needs
• Calibrate test and measurement equipment
• Move product to next location as required.
• Work with Operations, Engineering, and other teams to achieve common company goals.

Competencies

• Must be able to read test specifications and perform tests according to standard operating procedures.
• Must be able to utilize a computer to lookup and enter information for product certification and qualification as well as calibration.
• Utilize test equipment in a laboratory environment to product consistent results.
• Ability to work with others to validate processes and improve them through auditing.
• Ability to assist in the documentation of standard operating procedures.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Working on the floor for extended period of time standing.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience:

• Prior experience in a detailed oriented position a must.
• Preference given to those who have worked in quality previously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
